“But that financial advantage did not translate into victory. In May and June, conservative media drew increasing attention to the Brat vs. Cantor race as a way of sending a message to Beltway Republicans thinking about signing on to the White House immigration agenda. Talk-radio host Laura Ingraham covered the race extensively and even led a rally for Brat on June 3. Other conservative pundits, including Mark Levin and Ann Coulter, also supported Brat. Perhaps one of Brat’s biggest media allies in the primary race was neo-liberal blogger Mickey Kaus, who blogged and indefatigably tweeted about the race.”

“Though Cantor tried to put some distance between himself and allies of the White House immigration agenda, he did not put enough.”

this could very well be one of the 2 or 3 most stunning political defeats in history.

Amazing that Virginians ‘get it’ because, really, how much of a problem are immigrants to VA? Um...Like NONE!

So if VA ‘gets it,’ as far as amnesty goes, hopefully this bodes well for tumbling dominoes for ALL RINO/Dem primaries this season?

Interesting...

The problem is in at least 48 States including Virginia.

This is a first alright. No speaker has been defeated in a primary in the history of the Republic.

According to FNC, a House Majority leader has never been defeated in a primary in the history of the republic. Interesting.

>> it appears that Cantor was unable to fend off these charges.

The GOP establishment is a broken record in more ways than one.

Boehner is Speaker. Cantor is Majority Leader.

I was thinking more along the Tex/Mex border and the southwest which is usually the worst hit.

I'm glad that Cantor lost, he has gone full RINO and deserves it.

How in the hell did Graham win with 60% of the vote in South Carolina? He's worse than a RINO, the man's a despicable traitor to anyone right of center.

Honestly, I'd swap a Cantor win for a Graham loss any day. I can't believe he made it through. It takes the bloom off the rose in tonight's news.

The illegal problem is very real in Northern Virginia and in neighboring Maryland. Not just in terms of the overload on the schools and medical facilities, but also the MS13 gang activity.

Joe Scarborough posted a theory on twitter. I'm sure he hopes it take off.

@JoeNBC (VA-7) 2012 voter turnout 50k. 2014 t/o 65k. Cantor polling showed him +30 pts. VA has open primary. G-roots or planned D x-over?

So we are suppose to believe that Dems came out in droves to defeat Cantor? It might help RINOs sleep better at night.
