Did I miss something?? Catholic or Professor makes no difference as long as their values are conservative. Content of character only matters. You didn't miss anything other than a certain element of hard-headed nimrods think fighting Rome is more important than any or all of the other combined threats we are facing.
There is an equally mouthy cabal of bigots who think the same about Mormons.
