I was hoping for a picture. But I know it's the Amish again! Now had she put her sock on a gas stove, she'd gotten a lot more bang for her buck. :)

Maybe she is from Alabama.
ROGERSVILLE, Alabama Ah, that feeling of stepping outside barefoot at the first sign of spring. For sailors, removal of winter socks also marks the beginning of boating season. To celebrate the onset of their favorite season, local boaters are planning to host a sock-burning event, a traditional maritime rite, for the first time in north Alabama, according to Amy Gonzalez with Wheeler Yacht Club. Members are inviting boaters and the public to join them in burning their socks in a Free the Tootsies! event from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday. The event will be in front of the store at Wheeler Marina at 4403 McLean Drive in Rogersville. The purpose of the sock burning is to shed your winter socks and celebrate the upcoming spring equinox, which is March 20, Gonzalez said. As boaters, we cherish the coming of spring and boating season. Gonzalez said she got the idea for the event in September while sailing with friends in Virginia. Apparently, its a coastal thing, she said. So I investigated it and brought it up at our planning meeting as something we could do here. Shes expecting 30 to 50 people and everyones welcome.
