INTERVIEWER: What happened in Virginia the other day, does that concern you for your chances here in this run-off?

COCHRAN: I don't know what you're talking about. What happened in Virginia?

INTERVIEWER: With Eric Cantor losing his seat.

COCHRAN: Well, I haven't followed that campaign very closely at all.

INTERVIEWER: Really?

Later, the interviewer says, "Well, Eric Cantor lost his seat as the Majority Leader." To which Cochran replies, "Well, it happens. Some win, some lose."

He knows. He just refuses to acknowledge the TEA Party. He refuses to legitimize them.

It is clear Cochran is “not all there”. And is only being used by Haley Barbour as a prop.

According to other reports, he commented on Cantor’s loss on Wednesday, but seems not to know about it on Thursday. Dementia?

What is Mississippi law on replacing a retired senator? Did Cochran just run so he can be sworn in next year and immediately resign allowing a younger GOPe replacement to be appointed? Then those meddling kids in the Tea Party came in and screwed it up.

"Appearing in two scenes as Senator McCafferty — who, whenever awakened from a deep sleep, automatically responds "Opposed, sir! Opposed!" — was the 87-year-old Henry F. Ashurst, one of the first senators elected by Arizona, serving five terms. Ashurst died on May 31, 1962, a week before the film's premiere." (Advise & Consent)

Sounds like a pre-version of Sen. Cochran to me.

Someone should ask him if he thinks Reagan should run against Carter in 16. He’ll probably say that Reagan wouldn’t have a chance

Or a replacement for Jay Carney or Eric the Holder.

He might even be an improvement of many of our supreme court justices.
