The Kurds already have their state. ISIS/ISIL let them have Kirkuk. ISIS/ISIL needs a buffer to keep the Turks out of their business. Now the Turks have to take on the Kurds before they can even enter the ISIS theater.
You can count on the Turks taking on the Kurds. They have already had incursions against them in response to cross border attacks on Turkey by the Kurds. And Iran does not want a Kurdistan either.
