I wonder what the dissenting opinion is. I’ll have to look it up when I get home from work.

They are deciding on the applicabilty of a Federal Law, not a COnstitutional Right, although they are related. If a Federal law is unconstitutional it is still unconstitutional. That is why we have a Supreme Court.

I think you discovered it. You can only be nicked if you *intend* to be a straw buyer before you purchase the gun.
This does, however, put the blocks to gun purchases wholesale with intent to sell retail, but that is already under some FFL restrictions.

I not sure this one bothers me.. the question really is .....should you be required to fill out Form 4473 Question 11 to buy a gun in the first place...... if you say no..leave it blank..an fight for your 2nt rights on that ground.....but if you say yes they can require....then you answer truthful....
it like any other legal form..either decline to provide or answer truthfully..splitting the difference by lying is the worst move.....just like in court its tell the truth or take the 5th..but don't lie

Is there anything saying that you cannot buy a gun and give it to me? Not sell it to me, give it to me. If that option is still open , we’re OK.

That is now the law according to the constitutional power of the Supreme Court."If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so." - Thomas Jefferson

Just following Harry Reid’s example; I’ll give you a gun and you can sell my son a truck. The fact that the gun is exactly what you’ve been wanting and the price on the truck is, let’s say “good,” is irrelevant.

straw purchases are already illegal. but generally straw purchases are committed because the person asking cannot legally buy a gun on their own, in the first place.

You found a new gun on the seat of your truck. I found an envelope full of money on mine. Stuff happens.

"If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so." - Thomas JeffersonNow the guy has a felony conviction and can't own a gun. You buy the gun, take it to the range, fire it, decide you don't like it, then sell it to your relative.
