I thought that’s what Obamaphones were.
The only reparations I would offer is free passage, one way, to Africa for those who want to be reunited with their heritage.
How well were basic human rights respected in Africa back then? Any better than they are now.
Civil War - 620,000 soldiers died.
Reperations paid!
If any slave feels different let them come before the supreme court and petition for reperations for their time spent in slavery.
Good points. I agree with your take on it.
Thanks for your family’s service.
And should blacks have to pay reparations?
There were thousands of blacks who owned slaves. And thousands of whites who did not.
Okay, once and for all;
Everyone who owned a slave in the last 100 years, raise your hand.
Everyone who was a slave in the last 100 years, go ask the people with their hand raised for reparations.
Solved.
“Im Irish-American
where my check?”
Yep!
I’m American Indian. Keep your check I want my land back! I’ll take a small part of Texas! Austin would do then I could kick all of the libtards out!
American Indians = example of what happens to nations that have open borders policies
330,000 WHITE UNION military knowingly went to their deaths to free the African American slaves during the Civil War, they FOLLOWED the directives and emancipation orders of their government, a government THEY ELECTED. I have never heard an establishment, professional, progressive/ African-American, or White Progressive ever ACKNOWLEDGE, much less “thank” these dead men for their sacrifices, nor recognize the 260,000 White Union military who were wounded and/or grievously disabled, nor the widows, nor the children, nor the families of the military who also suffered.
I reiterate: REPARATIONS PAID!
Besides Americans of African descent were freed before my ancestors in Sicily were.
You’ll just drink it away ;)!
I have copies of my great-great-grandfathers records of four years of service in the 95th Pennsylvania Volunteers
...which counties was the 95th mustered from...my in-laws have ancestors that fought in the 93rd, from Lebanon and some surrounding areas...
That picture was taken at Gettysburg and those are Union soldiers. I don’t see any African-Americans on the ground.
I believe that THE OBAMA, purposely and with aforethought, did not go to Gettysburg to commemorate the battle because it would shown the world very clearly who fought and died to free the slaves.
Can’t have acknowledgement of who did what.
Sure.
Each individual will have to have certified documentation of their lineage dating back to the name of the individual that was enslaved.
I have some blood that dates back to ancient Egypt. (although I am as lily white as Larry the Cable Guy, Andy Griffith and Phil Robertson all in one [DAMN PROUD OF IT TOO]) Should I request reparations from the Egyptian govmnt for my POSSIBLE slaved ancestors?
What about all the other slaves throughout the history of mankind all over the world? Every person on Earth can go back and find a drop of blood in their veins that came from a slave sometime... somewhere... even if it was 10 thousand years ago.
I think America should pay reparations in the amount that will cover a oneway plane ticket to Africa. See how good the African govmnt takes care of them.
Reparations are generally paid by the people who cause harm.
Since no one living today ever actually owned black slaves.....isn’t it racist to blame us for things that other white people did. And let’s not forget about the BLACK AFRICANS that sold the slaves to the bad white people.
Get a job, women keep your legs closed, and that will solve all your problems.
That picture was taken at Gettysburg and those are Union soldiers.
...since the publication of that iconic Gardner photograph, the exact location has been debated back and forth...recently a Civil War photography buff has made a detailed study, and from what I can tell, has nailed the location perfectly...supposedly, it’s between the Chambersburg Pike and the Hagerstown Road, near the spot where Reynolds was killed, and perhaps the dead are from his command, the First Corps...
My family heritage started in America as Irish and Italian immigrants in the early 1900s... long after slavery.
My black co-worker’s family immigrated from Jamaica in the early 1900s... long after slavery.
And I owe him money?
Slavery reparations? More like making excuses and having plans for being bums far into the future.
