I live in central KY and have no choice but to use satellite.

I’m already limited to 15 GB. 300 would be heaven.

Yowza! I download at least a gig per day on my iphone over 4G alone. That is highly lame. Good luck with that.

I’m testing a competitive internet provider for the day they implement that plan.

I wonder if this is being prompted by people who’ve decided that they don’t need the cable TV becasue they are satisfied with streaming Netflicks. But for my wife who wants her cable, I could easily live with Netflicks only.

The Mobilization of the internet. I have AT&T elite. No data caps as of yet. Comcast is evil.

Comcast wants you to use their soon-to-be streaming service for an extra $19.99 a month.

Somebody doesn’t like competition with their cable TV service.

It means we can’t really use youtube much. However, between midnight and 5:00 a.m. usage is unlimited and doesn’t apply to my usage. That is the time for which I’ve set the scheduler for utorrent.

We don’t really care much about internet video or movies so it doesn’t impact us that much. That said, we never used to hit our limit, but since my wife quit her job, we do every month. We get throttled usually with a few days left, but at that point youtube is shut off by the carrier. We know because once we’re throttled, videos in facebook work just fine, but youtube simply fails. It’s not slow. It just refuses to work at all.

I’m looking to replace the whole thing with 4g ATT hotspot and new phones. I’ve been using sucky T-Mobile service here since we moved here (I quit T-Mobile IT in Seattle to move here). They even shut off my phone number for data usage at the tower next to my house because I was using it too much. BASSTURDS! ;-)

But the ATT plan for the phones and 4G hotspot device is roughly the same price as our phones plus satellite and you get more gigs and a faster experience. Our contract runs out in a month or so...

“I use less than 300gb a month. Good!”

How do I determine what I use? I watch history stuff on youtube. I’ve seen the (ah-hem) occasional floppy t*tty. What is a download? Is clicking on an FR link a download? Inquiring minds need to know.

I guess Comcast isn’t satisfied with 80% of its customers hating it and wants to try to drive that number up to as close to 100% as possible.

I may be looking for something like that. I used my cell phone at my home as a hotspot when we moved here. With Edge service only we could stream youtube without breakups. Then, after about six gig, they disabled my phone number at that tower. To this day I can’t so much as send photos in text messages from home. They WILL download at some point, but it’s totally random.

These appear to be areas that have a strong conservative bent. Is this a plan to limit largely conservative populations access to information?
