GOP fury after report claims IRS 'recycled' Lerner hard drive

The top Republican on one of the House committees investigating the IRS targeting scandal reacted furiously late Wednesday to a report that ex-IRS official Lois Lerner's hard drive had been recycled, making it likely that many emails sent to and from Lerner prior to the summer of 2011 will never be recovered.

The Politico report cited two anonymous sources, as well as Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, who confirmed that the Senate Finance Committee had been told that the hard drive had been discarded.

"If the IRS truly got rid of evidence in a way that violated the Federal Records Act and ensured the FBI never got a crack at recovering files from an official claiming a Fifth Amendment protection against self-incrimination, this is proof their whole line about 'losing' e-mails in the targeting scandal was just one more attempted deception," House Oversight and Government Reform Committee chairman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., said in a statement. "Official records, like the e-mails of a prominent official, don't just disappear without a trace unless that was the intention."

“...limiting them to spending 50% of their funds until the emails are turned over.”

And, the first thing the IRS/Obama would do is stop tax refund checks.

Obama and clan would decry those evil Republicans for holding up vital funds that Americans could be using to help heal our ailing economy. They’d drag a few low info voters in front of a camera bemoaning the loss of those funds...”I can’t feeds ma chillin’s.”, or “We was going to send Shanika to college this year, but now we can’t.”

Boehner couldn’t fund the IRS fast enough last time around. This GOP strutting about feigning outrage is just some red meat for the base in an election year. They don’t intend to do anything about the IRS in a substantive way.

The beltway GOP simply don’t care we were assaulted and have no interest in defending our constitutional rights. They are busy tip toeing to the election expecting voters to do their heavy lifting.

Start firing people until someone talks...

Someone TOLD them to do this.

Fire the ENTIRE IT department for total incompetence if you have to

Just like Reagan fired all the Air Traffic Controllers.

“Gangster Government and Sakharov’s Immunity”

http://enemiesforeignanddomestic.com/index.php?page=gangster

But imagine for a moment if President Nixon’s men, when called before the committees investigating the Watergate scandal, had provided less than twenty percent of subpoenaed documents after a full year of ignoring requests and congressional pleadings. Then further imagine that among the twenty percent of the documents that were provided to Congress, hundreds of pages were “fully redacted,” or completely blacked out. Black paper, by the ream.
In diplo-speak, this is leaning across the witness table toward the congressional investigators, giving them two middle fingers and a hearty, “F-— you, you punks, what are you going to do about it?”

Then imagine if the New York Times, the Washington Post and the television networks never mentioned Watergate or the hearings, except rarely, and then only to refer to the congressional investigators as partisan hacks on witch-hunts, simply bent on destroying the nation’s beloved President Nixon and stopping his good works. In this alternate reality, Woodward and Bernstein never got a Watergate by-line, but instead they were sent to cover the new “ecology” movement and Earth Day.

When are they going to stop "fuming" and throw someone's @ss in jail?

That's what's got to happen next.

Period.

Who needs the pitchfork and torch party more?

The IRS? Or the GOP Congress that refuses to do anything about it?

Even after all this blatant cover up Boehner still refuses to directly engage the kenyan on the IRS. This is the Obama IRS assaulting us and covering it up. Yet the Gelded Old Party can’t be bothered to engage him directly over his admin assaulting us.

Obama told whopper lies about the IRS scandal during his Super Bowl interview. Boehner didn’t say a word in response. I can only conclude that is because he simply doesn’t care.

Boehner agrees with what the IRS did - target small-gov’t conservatives. He doesn’t want a smaller government, he wants a bigger piece of the expanding gov’t.

the reason they want Lois Liar’s(personal) laptop and desktop

is to get to the secret site that she was using to send emails-

obviously encrypted- but might have a chance to decipher-

She did NOT communicate using the IRS mail system!!
DUH-

(Don’t believe me?- Al Bore and the Clintoons set up
their own private server- against Federal Law- and
communicated that way- and destroyed the whole infrastructure before they left-)

This is why the NSA is monitoring everyone- they already
Know Fed Laws have been violated- probably ALL top
government stooges have a faked email— works like this-

Have your Brother in law buy a phone - get an email account- but really you are the individual using it-

Only when needed, and in code,- need to talk to the president? - he has designated someone on his staff to
do the same- another Demonrat that thinks this is perfectly
O.K.- relaying messages to destroy average Americans

That’s my conspiracy theory

you are right. John refuses to do his job. He will be blamed at the end of the day when the US is destroyed. He will be the goat.

This is the Obama administration saying, "You're not getting the damn emails. Now, what are you gonna do about it?"

If the GOP House 'Leadership' were not Democrats in all but name they would order the House Sergeant at Arms to IMMEDIATELY arrest Lerner and all the other IRS goons that 'lost' those emails and hold them indefinately until they testify completely and truthfully to the oversight committee.

Congress does have the power of arrest. It was ruled constitutional by the Supreme Court. There even used to be a jail cell in the Capitol Building.

Well, that’s veering into another topic, but yes,

conservatives will be blamed for the crash of the USA [intentionally] caused by liberals.

Is the gubmint that inept that they “inadvertently” destroyed Lerner’s hard drive and amazingly enough, other hard drives that were connected? Yes, it is. But, this was no accident. Yet another charge, “destroying evidence to avoid prosecution”.

How corrupt does this group have to get before SOMEONE, ANYONE gets out the rope and starts hanging the crooked ba$tards. I have a lot of rope and will donate it to the cause.

There are backups. There are backups of the backups. And on top of everything else- emails are sent to someone, right? So, where are their copies?

Exactly. This is so much Kabuki theater and the idiot 'pubs are playing right along.
