Uh oh....it's a red state, too.

What does Oklahoma mean?

Oklahoma is based on Choctaw Indian words which translate as red people (okla meaning "people" and humma meaning "red").

Actually, I thought it was there other way around, with okla being red, but I could be wrong. I think about 25 states are named after Native American words. I think all those names should be changed, so we don't offend them. /s
