HOUSTON, Texas—Militia groups in Texas and across the nation are responding to the Texas Border Surge announced Wednesday night by the offices of the Governor, Lt. Governor and Texas House Speaker. An announcement was made on several new media outlets including Facebook.
The alert to the civilian militia groups, which includes many groups who showed up at the Clive Bundy ranch in Nevada, calls on all able bodied militia members to converge on the Laredo sector of the Texas/Mexico border. A man who identified himself on a national conference call as “Ruthless” said their objective it to “put up a man-fence” to prevent the illegal aliens from crossing the border in their area of control.
Following is the text of the actual alert which was published on FreeRepublic.com and several other locations:

If there is ANY action, or call for action, I can guarantee anyone that officially, the Governor will NOT call for un-commissioned enforcement of our State and National border...
The call WILL go to the Guard...Nothing more, nothing less...
If you go to the border, right down to the river and at any vantage point to observe that area, you can bet the cartels and other criminal organizations, not to mention Mexican troops may very well shoot at you, on our side of the border...
The Guard, on the other hand will move very visibly, with full support of surveillance, intelligence, coordination with law enforcement agencies, both Federal and local offices...
Anything else poking around, manning OP’s, or patrolling will not be well known, by either side, and therefore lacking some real-time backup, or support from anyone...
That will be open season for groups on the other side of the river to either just take shots, or come across for quick raids on your encampments...
I’m just saying this because that IS what I would do I my bottom line, or political agenda were to suffer at the hands of militia groups conducting independent operations on the border...
I would look for loose cannons...I would send women and children across, and hope someone on our side would take a shot and kill some folks coming across...
Or wait till they do get over here, and shoot them myself...And let the media, our government blame the militia’s for those deaths...
IF I were part of this foreign, criminal activity...
So, I would urge caution, the discussion so far is noble, with all good intentions...But the opponents, on both sides of our border want this to explode in our faces...And they are not above doing something which will make folks in militias look really bad, again...
The media’s narrative IS ALREADY IN PLAY HERE...You just have to plug yourself in to be a part of the pre-ordained outcome...
Like I alluded too, our intentions are good, loyal, and principled...But the deck is, or already stacked against ANY civilian militia “at this point”...
If I were to make the militia look bad, this is how I would let it play out, and make sure it does not look good for the militia...
Another aspect of this is the possibility that some (militia) may come across a situation where a “transport” may be taking illegal border crossers to “processing” facilities, and possibly either released or be deported...Maybe not immediately, but eventually, or maybe not at all...
If anyone believes they might think it would be ok, to stop, commandeer, and immediately turn that vehicle around, and deposit said illegal border crossers at the border and tell them to get to stepping south??? Well, stow that away as a nice sentiment...That action will go badly for everyone again...
I really hate to be the one to throw a cold bucket of ice water on this activation of the militia idea...But I am just doing what I tend to do, look at this from an objective point of view...
I do not disagree that there is a problem, and that mobilizing is not a terrible idea...I would probably be right there in the middle of this...
There is just the possibility that this is going to go badly, and that there are opposing forces at work here just itching to make the militias look terrible...
What the solution is, is left to be seen...But the lawful authority here in Texas HAS to make the first physical move...
Otherwise, we stand to lose a lot more than just his battle...
We are the ACE in the hole...And all the cards have not been dealt just yet...I urge caution, restraint, and civility...Lets hope cooler heads prevail, and that until actual events deteriorate on the border...
I believe at that point, all bets are off...
Let the government (and hope they do not) screw this up first, more than it already has been...Then this effort may very well be warranted...

Now, we hear that is not correct. Rumors are as rampant as fact. Other contacts say the Governor of TEXAS has not conversed with militia leaders and tat when and if they do, it will be th Governors office who would inform the media with a press conference, which makes sense.
You're right. And if we can hold him off until after the next Presidential election - we'll dismantle the police state he's been building.
