‘Moderate’ = neither fish nor foul....scared of their own shadow! Their allegiance is ‘for sale’ and everyone knows it.
A group not to be trusted, one way or another.

The left’s worldview just cannot accommodate Cruz being successful.
When he wins, we’ll hear “how did that happen? I don’t know ANYONE who voted for him”...
But I bet he journalists who were ID’d as enemies would know people who voted for both candidates...

According to Toobin Cruz cited Presidents Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan as examples of conservatives who won elections and President Gerald Ford as a moderate who lost. Nixon was not a conservative in my opinion.
Not by any stretch of the imagination.

you got Bob Dole; 2000 and 2004, you have George W. Bush; 2008, John McCain; 2012, Mitt Romney. And what does the entire D.C. Republican consulting class say? In 2016, we need another establishment moderate! Hasnt worked in four decades. But next time will be the time!" Yep - What I've been saying too. Glad to see that someone in Washington has an inkling of the mindset in "flyover country." I've heard talk of reanimating Romney for a second loss. The ideal establishment Republican ticket would be Romney/McCain packaging two "me too democrat lite" losers in a single ticket.

Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.
That is the strategy of the Republican establishment.

Could Rev. 3:15-17 not be more appropriate for describing the GOPe and conservatives’ view of them? We keep spitting them out of our mouth.
“I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarmneither hot nor coldI am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing. But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.”

Cruz is right. Why have faux Democrat when you can vote for the real thing.

Whether or not a “moderate Republican” can win isn’t the issue. The question we should be asking is will the new president undertake the task of restoring this country to its constitutional foundation? Even electing a “conservative Republican doesn’t guarantee that. It’s going to take someone real special to rein in the expansion of this government. Someone who hasn’t a problem saying NO!
