Under Inherent Contempt, the procedure for holding a person in contempt involves only the chamber concerned. Following a contempt citation, the person cited is arrested by the Sergeant-at-Arms for the House or Senate, brought to the floor of the chamber, held to answer charges by the presiding officer, and then subjected to punishment as the chamber may dictate (usually imprisonment for punishment reasons, imprisonment for coercive effect, or release from the contempt citation).

Congress indeed may jail someone for inherent contempt. It's been to USSC and upheld.
That said, it's also high frikin' time that we start fighting this war. We're playing by civilized rules right now [the law] and the dems aren't. They have no hesitation to break laws then say "whatch gonna do about it?" We have to fight that way too or we can expect to continue losing.

Until he does something...from all the evidence so far; that seems highly unlikely!
When examined by the IRS, the emails proved that the orders to target conservatives came from Obama. Therefore, the IRS has spent the last several months trying to destroy the emails.
Try to imagine if a defense contractor had not given enough “set-aside” subcontracts to Democrats and then told the oversight committee they lost the emails that would prove it was deliberate. CNN, the NYT, and the Washington Post would be on this story 24/7 until someone went to jail for a very long time.
