Study: Fish Feel Pain, Recognize Individuals Like Mammals

Fish can feel pain and some have the ability to remember, including being able to recognize individual members of their species, according to a study by Australian researcher Culum Brown in the journal Animal Cognition.

In the study "Fish Intelligence, Sentience and Ethics," Brown looked at multiple studies on fish and their sensory abilities as compared to other vertebrates. He found that many species of fish have sophisticated senses of vision and smell, just like a mammals, and some have memories.

One experiment involved training fish to flee danger by swimming through a specific hole in a net. When the fish were reintroduced to the situation a year later, they remembered the hole and swam through it.

Fish not only remember individuals, Brown wrote, but can pass on "cultural traditions" to succeeding generations, such as where to find food. They also build partnerships with others, including with other species, to hunt for food and build nests by moving stones.

He says the evidence suggest fish should be afforded the same animal rights protections as other species who feel pain.

They thought the nerves were for.... decoration?

Yeah. Pain is the mechanism used to tell you something is amiss. Are there people who think God didn't give that to fish? Weird.

Both groups are natural allies, but Cultural Marxists are not so much visionaries as they are advocates of the destruction of America. Anarcho-primitivism is probably the origin of the environmentalist ‘science’, though, since they have a specific utopia (albeit a malicious one) in mind; the Marxists will latch on to anything which leads to the erosion of American values.

One example is Islam, an ideology which is evil and repugnant but recognizes that the application of Leftist policies to Saudi Arabia is a bad thing. Muslims see that environmentalists are full of nonsense, but recognize that they are useful allies in destroying American capital; this is why the Muslim world is so supportive of the Kyoto Protocol, since only Western nations would have to make economic sacrifices under that Bolshevist treaty.

In practice, attempting to determine the motivations of Leftists is foolish; they have announced that they dislike common sense values and remedies, and that’s all the evidence we need. You can’t force a camel to drink water, but you can shoot the camel if it attempts to contaminate the water or stop other camels from drinking the water.
