While tens of thousands of members of the Christian church in Muslim countries are subjugated, oppressed and slaughtered in the religiously mandated jihad, the Presbyterian Church has taken punitive action against the Jews. In a move echoing the Kristallnacht boycott of the Jews in Germany, The Presbyterian Church (USA) voted on Friday by 310 to 303 at its general convention to divest from Caterpillar, Hewlett-Packard and Motorola, which supply Israel with equipment used in the territories. The only thing missing from the meeting were the giant red flags with swastikas and stiff-arm salutes.
The Presbyterian church has long suffered the sickness of antisemitism. Now they have found a way to punish the Jews and please their jihad masters.
This is nothing new.
After centuries of Islamic persecution the psychological knee-jerk response to Islamic demands is submission. Mar Drurie explains in The Third Choice, One of the most profound and least-understood manifestations of rejection in human history is the Islamic institution of the dhimma, the theologically-driven political, social, and legal system, imposed by Islamic law upon non-Muslims as an alternative to Islam (i.e. conversion) or the sword (i.e. death or captivity). The dhimma is the third choice offered to non-Muslims under jihad conditions, and those who have accepted it are known as dhimmis. Their condition, dhimmitude, forms the subject of this book, which describes the challenge posed by Islams treatment of non-Muslims, exposes the spiritual roots of this challenge, and offers a solution
Presbyterians Vote to Divest Holdings to Pressure Israel Laurie Goodstein, NY Times The Presbyterian Church (USA) voted on Friday by 310 to 303 at its general convention to divest from Caterpillar, Hewlett-Packard and Motorola that supply Israel with equipment used in the territories. The measure also reaffirmed Israels right to exist and endorsed a two-state solution. the only place where you have freedom, tolerance, protection of minorities, protection of gays, protection of Christians and all other faiths is Israel, said Netanyahu. Lets arrange a bus tour for (Presbyterians) in the region. Let them go to maybe Syria, Lebanon, Iraq. And my only suggestion for them
it be in an armor-plated bus, and
they shouldnt announce that theyre Christians. (AP)
ZULU, I don't disagree with your basis of your assertion but I think you were actually referring to "mainline" and not "mainstream" denominations. Please allow me to make the important distinction...
"Mainline" denotes a clear historcal characteristic while "mainstream" implies a subjective political or theological meaning. The "mainline" denominations are those Protestant denominations from which the newer evangelical denominations branched off during the last century. The PCUSA is a mainline denomination, but the conservative PCA, OCP and ECP denominations which split off from it are not mainline. The American Baptists and National Baptists are mainline, while the conservative Southern Baptists who separated from them are not mainline. And so it goes with the other once-vibrant hollow shells of mainline unbelief.
Interestingly, members of the newer and more theologically conservative evangelical denominations now outnumber mainline members, and evangelical denominations continue to grow while all of the mainline denominations continue to lose members. If either group can legitimately claim to be "mainstream" today, it would have to be the evangelical churches.
Note: The United Methodist Church didn’t vote for same-sex marriage. Marriage is still between a man and a woman.
You are correct. My terminology was wrong.
The bright spot is the evangelicals. They need to infiltrate and take over all the existing mainline Christian sects.
What percentage of Presbyterians compose the orthodox Christian groups you mentioned?
Thanks in advance
Of course you are forgiven, Marine, and you too Zulu. :)
I wasn’t angry, just wanting people out there who care to know or who are looking for a church home to know that conservative Evangelical Presbyterian churches still exist.
