I’m making a prediction. Before long McDaniel will announce that he is supporting Cochran “for the good of the country” and will even campaign for him. Why? Because he’s going to get a call telling him his political career is over unless he plays ball. I hope I’m so wrong.

That is what usually happens

I don’t live in Mississippi so it really doesn’t matter, but I wish McDaniels would stop whining and suck it up. He was defeated unfairly and I think he should see if there is some legal recourse; I also think that, as a state senator, he should get moving on a bill to prevent open primaries. It’s irrational to let the opposing party pick the candidates.

I also think this should be used to reveal how blacks are nothing but a weapon for the Democrats. I’m sure the famous “black churches” were mobilized to improperly use their funds and their pulpits to tell the grannies how to vote, since they otherwise would not be going out to vote in the GOP primary.

So I think McDaniels should fight back - BUT if he loses the challenge (although there is precedent for having an open primary reversed when it was proved that too many people voted in both primaries, if that happened in this case) he should just work on getting Cochran elected.

DC politics is all a numbers game. If we have more numbers, even if some of them aren’t particularly good, we call the shots. If we don’t have majorities, we simply won’t be able to accomplish anything.

It is crucial to get more GOP senators and reps elected this time around, especially senators. It is up to the whips and the majority leaders to get them to vote with their party in what will be an increasingly conservative project, simply because while McDaniels lost here, many other more conservative candidates won elsewhere.

He knew all along that the establishment would do what they did. It’s not fair, but he’s just got to get more resolve and go ahead. Taking his marbles and going home and saying he doesn’t care if his party wins since he’s not the candidate would be a stupid, childish and self-destructive way of handling it.
