What’s wrong with reaching out to Democrats. Ronald Reagan would won the presidency in no small part to “Reagan Democrats.” Excluding anyone from the Republican Party only makes it harder to win elections. For example, the current issue of the New Yorker has a lengthy, mostly-positive article on Ted Cruz. However, it mentions that at the most recent Texas Republican Convention, the John Birch Society was allowed to have a booth, but the Log Cabin Republicans were not.

Nothing wrong with outreach...it depends the message used to bring disaffected Democrats (and others) into the fold.

Ronaldus Magnus campaigned on fundamental principles: unleash the free market economy; defeat a rotted Soviet Union through an unprecedented peace-time military build-up, and restore America’s position as the unquestioned leader of the world. And, Reagan showed blue collar Democrats how achieving those goals would lead to a better life for them and their families. Reagan did not run around touting his support for food stamps and other government give-aways.

Thad Cochran’s vision of “outreach” isn’t even in the same universe as Ronald Reagan’s. I’ve been told that President Reagan was never fond of Senator Cochran; he always was a superb judge of character.

Is that you Haley Barbour or are you just reading off RNC talking points? Reagan didn't reach out to Democrats by pi$$ing conservatives heads, calling them racists, and promising black more government handouts. You GOP Establishment bootlickers are despicable.

I agree 100%.

What is needed is an American political party, which is for working Americans.

WORKING Americans.

Not for oursourcing. Not for laying off Americans, or hiring foreigners.

A party which is completely dedicated to bringing back, and building up, American jobs.

Jobs.
