You assume wrong.
On June 3, when we entered the polling place we picked a station, either Democratic or Republican.
Our voter ID was checked and we signed a book at that station that was CLEARLY labeled June 3 REPUBLICAN PRIMARY. We were then given a voting card and sent to a voting machine in the REPUBLICAN side of the polling place. Once inserted, that particular voting card ONLY brought up the names of the REPUBLICAN candidates. Once we selected our choice we returned the card to the REPUBLICAN polling table.
It was the SAME for democrats. You have no idea WHICH Republican or democrat was voted for but you DO know WHICH primary they voted in. You were NOT given ballots for both.
If they voted in the democratic primary on June 3 and then voted AT ALL on June 24, they broke the law. And so did whoever LET them.
EVERYONE PLEASE READ POST 277
There we have it. Period. Full stop. Thank you.
>>You assume wrong.<<
Thank you, Agnes, for your description of the actual voting process.
All I would point out is that my post wasn’t assuming anything at all. I was just questioning whether others’ assumptions (and as you can see, there was a lot of assuming going on) were correct.
Your state’s process is definitely different than my state’s, although we also are stupid enough to allow an open primary. Why we would let a DEM choose a GOP candidate eludes me, entirely.
From your description, it should be easy to verify who voted illegally, although there’s still the issue of who they voted for on June 24th. Still, if the number of illegal votes cast by DEM primary voters far exceeds the margin of Cochran’s victory, it should be possible to get the result overturned.
By the way, if I were the judge in the matter, I’d call Cochran into court and have him personally explain why he felt entitled to request the state’s taxpayers to spend the additional money on yet another runoff, given that it was almost certainly due to his staff’s shenanigans that the first runoff had to be overturned. In other words, I’d try to shame him into doing the right thing, and conceding to McDaniel (assuming the number of illegal votes cast far exceeds his victory margin, of course.)
The GOPe should take zero pride in “winning” in this manner. I hope a few of them start to figure that out in the next couple of days.
I’m one of those that wants 51 Republicans in the Senate as of next January. Harry Reid becoming the Minority Leader would be a dream come true.
While I wish they would all be Conservatives, the Reality is that reaching that number would require both Conservatives and RINO’s being Elected. I cannot see any plus in letting the Democrats remain the Senate Majority.
That being said, this entire episode stinks to high heaven. If there is no Revote based on this obvious Voter Fraud, the Rule of Law is invalidated.
If good old Thad doesn’t support the Investigation and subsequent Revote, he is as big a Lawbreaker as Obama. That would include the Republican Leadership. If they don’t get behind exposing the “truth” and righting the wrong, they are no better than the Democrats.
At that point, the Country is toast, the Two Party System is dead and we might as well rename the Country the USSA.
