So who’s fun was over in this case? The toddler’s?

Cops are necessary. Every society since the dawn of time has had them in one form or another. The problem always is binding them to laws and institutions so they don’t become a bigger problem than they solve. That’s a problem as old as civilization. That’s a problem as old as the first villages that created a chief or a council. Nothing new here. No new issues. I am reminded of when the Israelites demanded a King, and Gods warning. Old old issue. To imagine otherwise is to pretend we don’t sit on the shoulders of 6000 years of civilization and traditions.

We have a Constitution, and institutions that attempt to balance the need for government with the dangers that government inherently creates. Ancient problems. We have a model that will work. The People must vigorously defend the Constitution that keeps government in check. That requires constant push back. Constant questions. Constant demands for accountability.

Yep...i agree 1000%. I guess I was speaking to those who just hate cops because they exist, and can be the most visible part of the govt. I have been an LEO for 23 years. I see both sides here, because I was raised to have respect for others and the law. I see those that have no respect come and go. I watch as new crop after new crop of recruits come in. With each passing year, it seems the recruits reflect societys entitlement mentality. So now there are sworn and non sworn that are destined to clash. Cops need to be held accountable. I have no issues there. What irritates me is out of the hundreds of thousands of calls handled every day by good guys...the dog shooters and amendment violators always sully the reputation of those who take the profession to heart. I know these incidents need to be shown the light of day...it just makes my job harder...my rant...sorry.
