No one in our history has been elected to the presidency without already holding a high-level state, federal or military position. Why do backers of this gentleman think he’ll be the first?

I truly respect Dr. Carson. But we have no idea whatsoever if he can lead an organization larger than a hospital department. And was he even in charge, or just the stud surgeon? I love the way he is taking the conservative banner up. I also fear that we are projecting an administrative ability on him that he may not possess. The best engineers make the worst managers. Just because somebody is smart, doesn’t mean they can lead. America projected its hopes onto Obama, who had no track record, and look what we are reaping.

I think Dr, Carson is light years smarter than POTUS, but I don’t want to fall into the same trap....

The only GOP nominee who didn’t hold high office was Wendell Wilkie in 1940.

And Publisher Frank Knox in 1936, I believe, was our only Vice Presidential nominee who hadn’t held high office (he was Navy Secretary after the election).

I think Carson is getting so much attention because of the scarcity of quality GOP candidates. It makes more sense to make him HHS Secretary.
