He studied NLP - Neuro Linguistic Programming. It has been around since the 1970s and was developed by a pair of professors at UC Santa Cruz. Very powerful communication tool and can be used for good or evil.
It’s called psychopathy.
I have no idea (except for the well-publicized possibility of malignant narcissism ) but perhaps some psychiatrists or other psych professionals might offer a learned opinion on your thesis.

He knows that the liberal media is pushing the propaganda, so he can say whatever he wants with impunity. I openly mock anyone who refers to “the news” when they try to make a point about the improving economy; here in NJ there is plenty of evidence to the contrary.
He's worse than a liar ... he's a bullshitter.
A liar has some regard for the truth, if only to conceal it.
A bullshitter simply spews whatever comes to mind that he thinks will somehow work to his (temporary) advantage, with no regard whatsoever for the truth. Most politicians are more bullshitter than liar, but Bam-Bam has a black-belt in it.
The president is like a relative of mine. She’ll lie to you when you know she’s lying and she KNOWS you know she is lying, but she just lies anyway!
