Anyone know what might trigger a recount? It’s common for a recount to be automatically triggered if the margin of victory is .5% or less. But also a recount can commonly be triggered if it’s proven that there were substantial irregularities with the voting. Often, the loser is highly pressured to waive their right to a recount to keep “party unity”.

Not sure what MS law requires, but apparently McDaniel doesn’t need to find 7,000 illegal votes, but enough to show the election was tainted - wonder what that threshold is.

Not a recount situation. if the number of illegal votes exceeds the difference, the usual remedy is to order a new election.

I don’t think it will be a recount. It will be a new primary election.

But the new election needs to have heavy monitoring for vote fraud and McDaniel needs to run ads to reach out to blacks with a response to Cochran’s misleading remarks about his being a racist or a member of the KKK etc.

Personally I think McDaniel can win as a write-in because the black dems that crossed over for Cochran won’t be there in November.
