Eugene Robinson: Hobby Lobby Sort of Like Segregationists
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 06/30/2014 5:43:40 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Hobby Lobby's objection on religious grounds to paying for abortion-causing contraceptives for its employees reminds Eugene Robinson of segregationists who cited the Bible in support of their views. In his great magnimity, Robinson allowed that the Hobby Lobby case "is perhaps a bit different." But if the WaPo columnist didn't think the segregation analogy was relevant, he presumably wouldn't have cited it in the first place on today's Morning Joe.

There was also a point of light on the show. Donny Deutsch, after announcing that he was "far from a conservative," nevertheless went on to make the explicitly free-market argument that "nobody is forcing anybody to work at Hobby Lobby."

To his credit, Willie Geist did mention that on today’s Morning Joe.

What is the likelyhood of Roberts going for Hobby a week ago, going against 5 days ago, going for 3 days ago, against 1 day ago, for it now, and (with 18 minutes to go), going against 5 minutes before 10?

I agree... VERY likely!

They object to being forced to pay for birth-control, regardless of type.

The employees are free to use any they want though, as long as they do it on their own.

That is because like most Dems, Robinson is a racialist. Everything in their lives is filtered through the prism of race. If you choose to plant peas instead of tomatoes in your garden, that is a race-based decision according to the racialists. I’m only slightly exaggerating. Racialism is why a race-hustler like Robinson interjects race into a matter than has nothing to do with race.

I have yet to see a single media outlet make this point. I have to wonder why.

Because it does not fit the agenda; any such truth must be suppressed.

So, Eugene is saying that objecting to being forced to provide free contraceptives and abortifacients to other is morally the same and buying and selling human flesh. And we’re supposed to take these people seriously?

Yes, these people - elite liberals - discovered some years back that if they used the words 'civil rights' that they could win arguments without having to defend stupid irrational positions. If you think this is bad, elite liberals are trying to defend the fraud about 'global warming' by calling it a 'civil right'. Sickening.
