You can defecate into a bag, through a hole in your torso; why walk when you can use a Hoveround?

All you offered was your own definition of need, which might seem like common sense to you, but who cares?

The more rational standard of treating a non-functioning, or malfunctioning body part or process seems adequate enough here.

No, it will not lead to your death. Neither does it really hinder anything but your pleasure. Oh God help that a man can’t have his sex. Monks and other good people have managed no ejaculation and they have lived long with no intervention.

Defecating with a colostomy bag is NOT natural and REQUIRES surgery - medical procedure.

There just is no comparison. Absurd.

“This is all about buying women’s votes.”

absolutely! Hillary will be running on this decision, you can bet on it. How did Sotomayor and Ginsberg vote, as this may have some impact on Hillary’s ability to use this decision to sound the clarion for women’s rights being denied by those white-privileged men?

"There is no individual NEED for erections. None. It is not “medical”; one is not going to wither away because of it."

There is no absolute "need" to walk without pain, to have good vision in both eyes, to be able to move one's arms without pain, to have better hearing, to have straight teeth, or to be rid of many other physical ailments. Medicine extends far beyond treating potentially fatal illnesses. You talk like a medieval monk or a Christian Scientist. Sex may be optional for YOU, but others may want to enjoy a sex life if there is some treatment which makes that possible.

Your comment reminds me of the old joke, "I went to my doctor and told him it hurts when I do this [raises arm in air]." My doctor said, "Don't do that." You're like the doctor in the joke.

In nature, you would be dead meat walking with pain, or even having pain anywhere else or being visually or audibly impaired. Non-working male appendage has nothing to do with being able to live.

My sister died 2 years ago of a rare breast cancer and I myself have gone through gigantic tumor removal in the gut and then pulmonary embolism in the last year.

Excuse me for having little sympathy for something that is nothing but basically elective and getting it covered.

And that is the key to whether it is truly medical or not - 100% elective. Thus, it should not have any coverage. Any more than should BC pills (which incidentally are used for other more medical issues).
