A new Gallup survey finds that Americans confidence in all three branches of the U.S. government has fallen dramatically, reaching record lows for Congress (7 percent), the Supreme Court (30 percent), and a six-year low for the presidency (29 percent).
Survey results were based on telephone interviews conducted June 5-8, with a random sample of 1,027 adults, aged 18 and older, living in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia. The margin of sampling error is +/- 4 percentage points at the 95 percent confidence level.
The presidency, currently with Barack Obama in power, has experienced the largest drop of the three branches of government this year, falling seven percentage points from its prior rating of 36 percent.
Gallup acknowledges that while the name of the president in office is not mentioned when the poll question about confidence in the presidency is asked, it is clear that how positively Americans evaluate the current president has a direct impact on how much confidence Americans place in the presidency as an institution.
According to Gallup, while Americans have typically had less confidence in Congress than in the other two branches of government, the Supreme Court and the presidency have alternated as the branch most trusted by Americans since 1991.

Well this is not a surprise.
Get people in office who believe in us individuals and we’ll see it turn around.
Now you know why DemocRATS are okay with NON-Americans flooding America.
LOL. Even that gives them far more credit than they're due.
Government = Vikings
... though that same majority still vote Dem.
I saw a similar poll with results published by CNN, or NYT, or some supposedly “big, respectable” news outlet. When you look at the poll, it also asked attitude about the press. The press scored lower than Congress. Giggle.
Likewise, most drug addicts believe that drug addiction is bad. There are too many people addicted to big government programs, but though they may believe that big government is bad, they haven’t bottomed out and can’t give it up.
President Ronald Reagan told us the problem with big government.
Obama showed us.
The government cares not that you or anybody else have confience in it. The government is a close parallel to organized crime, which also doesn’t care if you have confidence.
If the terminally lazy, those with a moocher mentality, and other democrat voters get off their fat derrieres and stop thinking of government as their new mommy and daddy they won’y be disappointed by not getting everything they want from government.
Which “Americans” are they talking about?
No “real” American would ever have faith in the Federal Government to run their lives.
The ones getting freebies will still vote for more free stuff.
Obama has been almost universally destructive. This loss of faith in government is an extremely small nugget of gold in an exceptionally large barn full of manure, but it’s the only good to come out of the six terrible years we have been ruled by that communist druggie.
I have faith in none of them, ever
Does not matter.
The Federales, esp. the un-elected bureaucrats have all the laws, regulations, and force whether we have “confidence” in them or not and no matter how we vote.
