I don't think he can. There have been a number of threads here citing MS elections law about how write-ins are only permitted if one of the candidates on the ballot leaves the race.

McDaniels is going for having the election thrown out, which is the right way to go.

In MISSISSIPPI, McDaniel can neither be elected as a write-in candidate or run as a third party candidate.
