Target Corp. on Wednesday took a stand against customers who bring firearms into its stores. This is a complicated issue, but it boils down to a simple belief: Bringing firearms to Target creates an environment that is at odds with the family-friendly shopping and work experience we strive to create, John Mulligan, the companys acting CEO, said in a statement. The matter became a surprising controversy for the Minneapolis-based retailer in recent months when activist gun owners in Texas and other states chose the companys stores to demonstrate their belief in the right to openly bear arms.

I will now avoid this publicly advertised “unarmed victims” zone.
they got too big for their data breaches.
Target now becomes one. Crazy drugged up dopes are already cheering.
Name your store Target and then tell people not to come in armed. Seems a little odd don’t it.
“Target” wins the Irony of the Day award.
Haven’t gone there in years.
Their name and logo are rather ironic though! hahaha
In addition to not bringing my gun into Target, I will go a step further and not bring my money in there, either.
And hoplophobic Bloomturd soccer moms.
Unless there is an official no-guns sign posted on their store entrance, it is perfectly legal to bring in a gun in this state (NC). I’ll continue to concealed-carry in the local Target store. Even if they do put up a sign, I’ll probably decide to ignore it. The issue of self-defense is too important to be diminished by this feel-good PC nonsense.
"We'd much rather our customers and employees be left at the tender mercies of criminals. Luby's is our model."
I stopped going to Target when they disallowed the Salvation Army Bell Ringers at Christmas.
Since they can’t keep credit card data secure that was a good decision.
So they wont need to worry bout me bringing in my gun.

I will respectfully ignore their request.
I was in Target when a couple decided to grab a TV and head to the rear door. A cop was in the store and chased them, yelling freeze. They got in a fist fight near my family. The cop ended it with a few boot stomps (from his jack boots I’m sure :). The perp and his family sued the cop for excessive force. I told the police department the cop did the right thing.
I wasn’t carrying that day. That was the last time I went to the store without my gun. Target can ask politely and I’ll politely ignore.
So police cannot go into a Target.
In Minnesota they need to post a specific sign as required by statute or they can want and one hand and poop in the other and see which fills up first.
If they oppose open carry, I don’t know why they couldn’t just post a sign stating “NO OPEN WEAPONS CARRY ALLOWED”

I don’t shop there. Foolish as they are now painting a “target” on themselves (to coin a phrase) for criminals.
But I will defend their rights as private property owners to make this call.
I worked for several big retail chains that all banned firearms in the stores. Extremely foolish IMO.
Customers? They aren’t the problem! They may want to ask CRIMINALS to not bring guns to its stores. Geeez. This crap isn’t rocket science!
