Are you implying that, in the long run, being the “beneficiary” of “enlightened” socialist policies is as devastating as being the recipient of an attack with a low yield nuclear weapon?
IOW, a current visitor to Hiroshima would have a more enjoyable evening stroll than a visitor to Detroit?
Hiroshima is a better place to raise a family today than Detroit?
Well, at least Detroit did not give its NFL team an insensitive name!

Hmm one of those guys was impaled by a control rod through his groin and pinned to the ceiling.
Hiroshima didn’t give their NFL team a bad name either.
There was a young teenager who was building his own atomic bomb. The feds shut him down and confiscated all his equipment. He gathered americium from hundreds if not thousands of discarded smoke detectors. They found him because his neighborhood had unusually high radiation. Supposedly, he had gathered more than enough material to make a viable bomb. I don't think he suffered ill effects from radiation exposure.
Yikes! What an unpleasant ending for all of them.
I transport people from hospitals to rehab centers.
A number of months back I transported a man who was stationed inside the ICBM missile silos. According to him, he was stationed inside the silo, with the missile 6 hours per day, switching off with another maintenance man. He did this 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off, for a year.
He was in my vehicle because he was having all his major joints, hips, knees, elbows etc., replaced, one at a time.
It was an interesting book.
He was trying to build a breeder reactor using Thorium transmuting to U233 which is fissonable.
His mistake was not knowing this reaction also produces U232, a gamma ray emitter.
It could have killed everyone within 100 yards if they hadn’t turned it off.
dang
Nothing like a good firestorm to eradicate accomplices of the Imperial Empire!
One article I read said they suspected the third guy might have caused the explosion then run off. Then several hours later, somebody looked up at the ceiling.
Thanks for the link about David Hahn. I didn’t know what happened to him after reading of the initial news story back when he was discovered. The followup story on him is sad, a lot of lost potential. What’s interesting is the statement that his mom threw out most of the radioactive stuff in the household garbage before the feds moved in. Could of been bad if the garbage was burned.
Coronary Artery Disease or Global Warming..?
