Just anecdotal evidence, but I have worked with a number of legal Mexican Americans, who are working in maintenance and housekeeping type jobs.
Every single one of them is against illegal immigration, or granting amnesty. They see companies paying people under the table, and breaking other laws, to accomodate illegal workers, and they are very much against that.
It’s really over simplifying the issue, and somewhat bigoted in my opinion, to just assume that Hispanics welcome all this illegal immigration, and favor amnensty, and favor Democrats and liberalism when they go to vote.
Interesting observation.
Even Caesar Chavez, the farm worker advocate, was opposed to illegal immigration. I saw him speak many years ago when I was a college dude in Los Angeles.
