"I heard a pop or a crack , like a cap gun or something," Swartzentruber said. Looking over, he saw blood gushing through Ford's nose.

The impact shattered Ford's nasal cavity, leaving him with a black eye and a swollen cheekbone - injuries doctors have told him will require "extensive reconstructive surgery" in the months to come. "All of these incidents are just too similar,"Swartzentruber later said. "It seems strange that they haven't connected them."

I read this earlier and thought about posting it. Marigny is where that 14 year old was shot in the head last year by a home owner.

Thanks. This has been bothering me for a long time. Whenever I see “random” or “baffling” in a headline now, I just see red.

Victims were in the wrong place at wrong time

Perp wore a yellow shirt and had a black gun and got away in a red SUV- if you have any information please contact police

Youths chose victims at random for no apparent reason

Police baffled

The NOPD was always a problematic police force but in the 90s a new wave of liberal thinking started taking hold. They demanded officers live in the neighborhoods they patrolled and resembled the ethnic make-up of the city.

Well, as a result a lot of bad cops made it through. We saw cops robbing and killing people. Now these cops are approaching their retirement and the next generation came up with nobody to teach them good police work.

So here we are. With a police force that is incompetent, lazy, and understaffed. The criminals know this. So they don’t fear them.

Speaking of bad New Orleans cops, is Antoinette Frank still wasting our oxygen?

Yup. Going on 20 years since. Hell of a justice system we have.
