I do not understand how hunting, for anything but food, is good stewardship of the Earth.

So animals that have killed people shouldn't be hunted down and shot? Animals that destroy livestock or crops that imperil the people relying on that food shouldn't be shot? Are animals above people in your outlook? How about licensing the taking of animals that are excess to their environment and using the money to improve that environment? If you think that the animals that were killed weren't eaten, you need to read up on meat in Africa.

First off, I don't consider the killing of an animal that has endangered people or destroyed livestock or crops to be 'hunting', nor do I consider the killing of an old or ill animal to be 'hunting'. These circumstances are culling the herd, NOT 'trophy' hunting, which this young, spoiled, semi-literate woman is doing, and doing for self-aggrandizement (an attempt to get a TV show). Not only do I pity the boy who might marry her, but I pity Daddy Warbucks who has spoiled his little girl by spending how many hundreds of thousands for his little girl to get her 15 minutes of fame! In his old age, Daddy better not expect much love or respect from his spoiled daughter, when he gets old!

I don't appreciate your straw man argument. ("Are animals above people in your outlook?") I might expect that on DUmmie, but from a FReeper? Comments like that certainly cheapen the brand! Since you must have missed what I wrote, I will repeat what I wrote about the liberal 'trophy' wife: "On the other hand, instead of someone hunting ‘trophies’, we have a spoiled, churlish, liberal ‘trophy’ wife, also apparently of limited literacy, expressing her desire to inflict bodily injury of the ‘huntress’.
NEITHER ONE of these two is a sympathetic figure."

What part of my comment suggests that I believe animals are "...above people..."? In fact, what part of ANYTHING I have EVER posted on FR suggests this? (Unless, of course, you are one of the FReepers who consider that any dog bigger than a Teacup Yorkie, to be a dreaded 'Pit Bull' and therefore, deserving of euthanasia.)

The gratuitous killing of an animal (ie: 'trophy' hunting), especially an animal that is endangered, is most definitely NOT stewarding the planet and all living things, as God told us to do!
