There is only one correct way to view the estimated 52,000 unaccompanied minors who have streamed through the United States-Mexico border over the past year and who are now crowding federal detention facilities: children fleeing desperate, dangerous places who need our help.
Instead, they have become political pawns to the anti-immigration forces who are intent on demonizing the children as a way to push their own agenda.

I happen to think Americans deserve compassion and not the jeers and taunts that they get from arrogant, America-hating, American flag-burning, protesting illegals calling us names and telling us to “go back to Europe.”
In a sane world the officer would have just turned her around, sent her back, and told the mother ‘no entry’.
Once again, the media lies with fake numbers. There are many more than 52,000 who have crossed the border.
The number was up to close to 500000 not that long ago
Your liberal neighbors, Jeff and Cindy, go out for a walk. They come across a child playing in a mud puddle. The child is wearing tattered clothing. The sight of the child makes Jeff and Cindy uncomfortable. They don’t like to be uncomfortable. They want that feeling to stop. So, they return home and break into your house and steal your money and give it to the child. Their feeling of being uncomfortable is gone.
We would normally call Jeff and Cindy’s behavior criminal. But, when it’s done through taxation and government, it’s magically OK.
Why don’t Jeff and Cindy pony up some of their money to help the child? They can’t do that because then they would be uncomfortable. They don’t like being uncomfortable.
They don’t mind taking your money because they don’t “see” you. You’re just a piggy bank to them. If they begin to feel a little uncomfortable about robbing you to ease their uncomfortable feeling, then they get rid of that feeling by labeling you as rich or privileged or bigoted.
Now, how has the theft of your money by Jeff and Cindy affected you and your family? Maybe you nurse along the old car for a few more years. Maybe your kid gets a job to help out so you see him less. Maybe you learn to live with the pain from that bad tooth.
In the meantime, Jeff and Cindy are finding every means possible to reduce their tax bill. They buy a new BMW. Their kid is going to an Ivy League School. But, they don’t feel uncomfortable, and that’s what really counts.
The lesson to be learned here is: If you are a liberal and you see something that makes you uncomfortable, pony up your own money or take a laxative because you have that uncomfortable feeling because you are full of shit.
Well, there is another solution.
Since the problem is the criminal behavior of drug-cartel corrupted governments in Honduras, El Salvdor and Guatamala, why not send in our Marines, catch and kill the drug dealers and their sychophants and establish those narco-states as properly administered “colonies” of the United States.
The citizens would get better governmnet than they have now and, thanks to capitalism, those countries would provide better lives for “the children”.
This whole situation is “For the Children” gone wild. It is intentional. It is illegal. The “children” should be arrested and deported ASAP. (I have compassion for America...not illegal alien invaders (of any age).
Using children as Legislative Human Shields is nothing new for the Left.

Great post. I know a few “Jeffs” and “Cindys,” and that’s just how it is.
Friggin hippies, their brain fell out and their heart is bleeding all over their earth shoes.
I’m for compassionately meeting their immediate needs and then sending them home.
Children need to be reunited with their families not getting lost in the system surrounded by criminals and pedophiles. This is criminal.

Yes; just old enough for them to sign their names on voter registrations as Democrats, or be able to do that within a couple years. What kind of people hold living beings in cages until they can be released to perform services? Pimps. Democrats. Human traffickers.
