It used to be the case that food stamps were only allowed for unprocessed basic food items, (bread milk, egss, flour, vegetables) and they were intended as basic subsistence for those in need.

The reason people trade them for drugs or cash now is that they are much more valuable now that they can be used for ANYTHING including booze, cigs and titty bars etc. There are so many simple solutions to these problems brought to us by the socialists in power.

“Big Food” companies and lobbies are all in for the SNAP program. The bigger the better.

This is a silly PR stunt. Any time you have huge transfer payments, there will always be fraud. The way to stop fraud is to reduce the transfer payments and focus them on only the truly needy — as in, people who can’t work who are starving and have no other means of support.
