Nothing new. My first job in the late 70’s was at a grocery store in a depressed area of town. The sparkling new Cadillacs of the food stamp spending customers were pretty common.
I actually worked in our food stamp office for a number of years. We had 2 parking lots, one for employees and one for ‘clients’. There were far more newer and more expensive cars in the ‘clients ‘ lot than in the employees’ parking lot.
