The decision was forced on COSTCO.

That makes is better - not worse. It shows the retail world that conservatives have muscle. That we’re the wrong people to mess with... but ‘do right’ by us and we’re worth the effort. ... Trust me, it’s stronger than boycotting 90% of businesses..

“The decision was forced on COSTCO.”

BS! Who forced it on them? It was their stupid decision too p.o. over half their customers.

right I was JUST at Costco to check out the book situation. There was NO Dinesh D’Souza “America” books but there were tons of Hilary Clinton books AND audiobooks on CD. There were 2 rows of the books 4 deep and 8 high (64 books! I didn’t count the CDs). It was perfectly level as if it were freshly stocked or no one is buying them. I was planning on taking a Hilary book up to the register and then telling them no than ks since they didn’t have the America book, but I just threw it near the canned tuna.

Those people dropping Costco for Sam’s will be back when they see how crappy Sam’s Club is.

I wouldn't agree with that 100%. I do prefer the meat at Costco and that the gas is cheaper there than at BJs here in Florida, but I have memberships at all three, Costco, BJs and Sam's Club and I go to them all for different things.

I bought my “America” book this morning at Sam’s Club. Also went to Costco and had a thought after I left the parking lot that the next I might buy a few copies of Hilary books only to return them just to get a point across. If they have droves of people returning Hilary’s book they might pull them from the shelves (wishful thinking).

It wasn’t “the book supplier” but Costco’s own book buyer, a significant figure in the book distribution network.

Precisely because of the limited display space her choices can really boost sales. People grovel before her hoping to get that bulk sale.

I have lived in areas that have had Costco and Sam’s and I belonged to both. Just as I’ve belonged to both Sam’s and BJ’s.

The problem with comparing the franchises is that each store in each of the franchises can be different. In other words, the Sam’s stores aren’t all the same, neither are the Costco stores or BJ’s stores. That makes it very difficult to compare one chain to another. Generally I know that Costco and BJ’s accept manufacturer’s coupons and Sam’s does not as a part of their national policy.

As for having meat sections, produce sections, bakeries, deli’s and gas stations, I think that depends on the individual store. The BJ’s where I am carries two to three times as many different products as the Sam’s store where I am. But that was a decision made by BJ’s to be better able to compete when they entered the market. All of the ones, Sam’s, BJ’s, and Costco, I’ve seen have had gas stations. One Sam’s had a bakery, the other didn’t until more recently.

Sam’s had already been here many years. Perhaps BJ’s felt a larger selection of goods would attract more people away from Sam’s. It’s not worked. But that may be due to Sam’s location right next to an interstate.

Our opinion matters to retailers. They can’t walk on us like they used to... you don’t see that as a win?

I totaled up my purchases, to date, this year. I called them, told them that amount, how long I’d been a member, etc. I told them how patently absurd this decision was (to pull the book) and that I would be more than happy to cancel my membership....

Hopefully hundreds more did the same.

You did good - that’s the way to collect power. Conservatives vote with our feet and our wallets. Now that we’ve got the win we stay with COSTCO... kind of a reward for them making the right choice and putting the book back on the shelves.

The BJ’s chain isn’t nationwide. Sam’s Club is.

Most Sam’s Clubs now have gasoline, FYI.

you are correct and I just looked up their locations. They seem to be on the east coast only. From Maine to Florida and places in between. They claim over 200 locations, so that is I’m sure quite a bit less than Sam’s Club.

Would be great if the Sam’s Club here in SW Florida got gas stations. The one I go to has been around since the late 80s IIRC.

I went in to Costco today to buy the book. There were none. I asked at the desk when they would have more copies. The woman said that the books had been pulled off the shelf and that they were not bringing them back.

People should be calling for that book buyer’s head.

I was in a Costco today. HC's book is gone.

America is well stocked and buyers are limited to 5!
