Not since Harry Truman was kept waiting on the tarmac at Wake Island has a president received such a deserved rebuff. Mac Arthur's rebuff was deeply resented by Truman, deeply resented by historians like Arthur Schlesinger Jr. and might have contributed to Truman's decision to fire MacArthur.

Obama cannot fire Perry and Obama loses because he's been diminished while he is vulnerable in the polls and Perry gains because he has elevated himself in the stature game over the president of the United States.

We the people gain because it illustrates how Obama has played the image game and avoided substance throughout his administration, just as he is doing now in Texas attending fundraisers, avoiding the border, and condescending to the people of Texas through is treatment of their Governor. Perry has learned from Obama's treatment in similar circumstances of the Governor of Arizona and quite nicely turned the tables.

I want Perry to show me where in the Constitution the states have expressly delegated to the feds the specific power to regulate immigration. That’s a challege because the word immigration doesn’t appear in the Constitution.

In other words, Perry doesn’t seem to understand that he, not Obama, has the 10th Amendment-protected power to regulate immigration policy for his state.
