I live in Texas as well. At this point is difficult to see how Davis would best Perry next November had he chosen to run. And for the life of me I cannot come up with a Republican state politican who would have run and beat him in a primary. He is much more popular (maybe acceptable) that you describe.

I know him personally, other than the Guardasil thing I have no issues with him. A RINO he is not.
