Firstly, they allowed a man to run for President on a national ticket without raising a peep about the cloud surrounding his birth. This is a person who repeatedly advertised himself to book fairs and speaking circuits as "born in Kenya" or the first Senator "born in Kenya". Whose WIFE referred to Kenya as "the country of his birth". And NOBODY said a word, or raised a question about his eligibility to run for President?
When does the Constitution mean LAW? When will our leaders stand up for LAW?
I’m with ya. Constitution first. Obey the laws. The “damage” to the Republican Party is far down the list of things to worry about.
This guy opines like a squish. He wants Conservatives to be squishes as Obama nukes all Constutitional restraints.

I think Palin's case is pretty clearly cut. That those such as the author believe following the law is "theater," and should take a back seat to political exigencies is a self-validating indictment of such "cognoscenti."

I have a friend that earned a degree in Political Science without ever reading the Constitution; and that was in the Nineties.
I donate to individual candidates. ..sadly no one I supported that won. It almost makes me think I am an not so lucky charm.

I took a poli sci course in college in the early 90s & never had to read the Constitution. In fact I never had to read it in 4 years of college but I watched that Watergate film in a journalism class.
Kind of like a pro-choice claiming to be a fierce defender of "women's rights."
Oh, really? Is this idiot saying that Obama is not only beyond the reach of Constitutional law but is also so powerful that he would be able to withstand Congressional sanctioned force? (not that Congress would ever have the spine or integrity to do such a thing)

Would Peter Weiner have written a similar letter to the Democrats about Richard Nixon. The Demoncrats were gung ho to impeach him. They didn’t seem to be worried about how it would affect their party. Odumbo has done a hundred times more damage to the country than Nixon ever thought of doing.
Unfortunately they’re right. There are no Democrats in the Senate prepared to do the right thing. So it would just be stages and theaters for the media and detract from the upcoming election — Which we want focused on Obama’s unchecked usurpation of Legislative and even Judicial powers.
Impeachment would steer it more towards GOP and there they go again with impeachment.
I think Sarah Palin kinda knows this and only brought it up as a revenge of sort for what happened in the Mississippi run-off and the treatment of Tea Party candidates in general. It’s a spoiler of sorts as it puts pressure on GOP. It puts the issue on the table before the election and makes some of them kinda uncomfortable having to talk about it.
The best shot at impeachment is after the election. whether we take the Senate or not (we won’t). We’ll fall short by 1 and if we do take it by 1, I believe we’ll have a defector. Perhaps McCain’s last insult to the Conservatives.
