I can find no connection between this and Baptist churches...just saying.
I just sent the SBC an email with that quote copied and pasted asking them to confirm or deny that they were affiliated with that organization.
BCFS in Texas is associated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas which is the oldest but most liberal Southern Baptist association in the state. Big on social justice, not so much on the Gospel.
In 1998 the more conservative Southern Baptist Churches in Texas split from this group and formed their own convention the “Southern Baptists of Texas Convention”. This sort of thing has happened in several other states as well.
On the one hand, if you google BCFC, everything leads you to an apparently secular humanitarian organization which has no connection with Baptist or Christ or anything faith-based at all. Just a Texas-based 501(c)(3) or charitable NGO with world "outreach" (nothing about mission in the religious sense.) --- oh, and no explanation of what the "B" is for in "BCFC".
On the other hand, if you google BCFC Baptist, there indeed a number of Baptist groups called BCFC, but most of them are Baptist Church Fishing Clubs!
So my hypothesis is that the BCFC which is getting all the millions in government moolah, is the secular nonprofit BCFC.
