Nobody should be surprised.
The next civil war is going to be ugly.
Adelson has always been for open borders as far as I can remember. Just like the Wall Street Journal.
Adelson owns casinos and hotels that require lots of little mescuns to clean up white mans trash and dirt he leaves behind. Cheep, cheep labor is all he is interested in, improves his bottom line ya know?
Other than that he could give a crap about illegal aliens.
I don’t care how much money Adelson or any other billionaire makes. I just want business and government to go back to their respective corners and stay there.
The Lear jet leftists expect to form the core of the global Green Inner Party. There they will continue to enjoy the finest foods and most advanced gadgets the world has to offer — while deciding your fate for you.
If you work very hard and show them your unwavering loyalty you may be permitted to join the global Green Outer Party. You will be allowed occasional servings of meat - and air conditioning on a rationed basis.
The rest of us will eat insects and swelter — for the good of the planet.
Yep.
A lot of people aren’t so clear cut, as Adelson’s substantial support for TEA Party types like Richard Mourdock, Allen West and Ted Cruz demonstrates.
And they’re right.

Adelson was never a “conservative” as we would use the term here on FR. He’s a big-government globalist just like the rest of these @ssholes that purchase favors inside the Beltway.
On the bright side.... couch potatoes make good human shields... I mean protective cover
Thanks, GeronL, for that information. As Rick said in Casablanca, I was misinformed about Sheldon Adelson. The numerous favorable posts about the man here on Free Republic during the 2012 presidential primary led to me believe that he was on the right side. It now seems I was quite mistaken.
When did Adelson shed his Conservatism? I have to think that the obama regime was responsible for his change. Or did that happen even before hussein stole the 2008 and 2012 elections?
It’s for Ramadan, silly. He had forgo most of his observance of Ramadan in 2012, and I don’t remember what he did last year, but this year, it’s back to his roots.
To be fair to FReepers like yourself, there were plenty of outsiders who showed up to drive the narrative one way or the other for their guy.
I don’t begrudge billionaires their money when they earn it legitimately. When they import cheap third world labor or collude with politicians to carve out special deals, that’s when I definitely oppose expanding their wealth. These billionaires use government against their fellow American citizens. Their motives aren’t honorable. How does more immigration from the socialistic, third world help you or I? It doesn’t.
Call me a Marxist if you want, but it wouldn’t upset me much if government fleeced these billionaires for every dime they own. Except that’s not how it works, and the ultra rich know it. Income taxes don’t have a significant impact on those who are already wealthy. Their wealth is secure. They aren’t afraid of government. They indirectly OWN our government. Disagree? Then why is it that “our” elected leaders keep pushing amnesty and expanded legal immigration even when most Americans oppose it?
I also couldn’t care less about Adelson’s casinos which are very likely dependent on very cheap, imported labor. Again, it would be different if these billionaires weren’t trying to use government policy against me and mine. If you wanted to pad your nest at my expense, I’d say you don’t need to make more money, too.
“Adelson was never a conservative as we would use the term here on FR.”
That’s my understanding, too. He’s on our side on a few issues, but he’s apparently a social liberal. That doesn’t surprise me as he makes (made) a lot of his money off of vice, i.e. casinos.
Bill Whittle: Where Do You Live Mark Zuckerberg?
The crisis on the Mexican border is worsening by the hour. In his latest FIREWALL, Bill Whittle hammers home three devastating points regarding the dangerous legal precedents, the morally gray areas, and the hypocritical pose of unearned moral superiority on the part of those proposing amnesty and open borders.
