We have taken many trips to Mexico, most Texans have but after a couple of scary incidents we said never again. We bought a '95 Toyota 4Runner in BElize from a Belizean who for years has been making trips to California to buy clean older cars and then return to Belize to sell them there.
He told us that he no long will make these trips - too dangerous now.
Driving over to Chetumal or up to Cancun is no problem, though.
