FBI Probing Lost IRS Emails as DOJ Sets to Defend Its Investigation
ABC News ^ | 7/16/14 | Staff

Amid a flurry of Republican calls for a special prosecutor to investigate the Internal Revenue Service’s alleged targeting of conservative groups, the Justice Department is set to defend its own probe of the matter as exhaustive and sufficient during a House hearing Thursday on the department’s response to the scandal. A top Justice Department official will tell the hearing that the department is now looking at how some of former senior IRS official Lois Lerner’s emails disappeared -- a new area of inquiry, Attorney General Eric Holder told ABC News in an exclusive interview Friday.

LOL, Holder investigates his own organization for wrongdoing LOL. Might as well have Al Zawahri investigate himself for the world court and claim he’s innocent.

I would love to know at what point did Justice know about the missing emails. Didn’t they claim they found no evidence of wrongdoing?

Great. And five years from now, when they find nothing, this will still be a nothing.

I read this as a covert threat to the IRS made by the DOJ to keep the lower level IRS tools in line...

I read this as ABC News has seen excerpts of Deputy Attorney General Jim Cole's testimony before Congress tomorrow. ABC News learned absolutely nothing from those excerpts, but somehow managed to create a two page article about it.

Thank you so much, Arrowhead1952, for this little bit of math.

The IRS & What are the odds?

The odds of winning the Florida lottery are 1 in 22,957,480.

The odds of winning the Powerball is 1 in 175,223,510.

The odds of winning Mega Millions is 1 in 258,890,850.

The odds of a disk drive failing in any given month are roughly one in 36. The odds of two different drives failing in the same month
are roughly one in 36 squared, or 1 in about 1,300. The odds of three drives failing in the same month is 36 cubed or 1 in 46,656.

The odds of seven different drives failing in the same month (like what happened at the IRS when they received a letter asking about
emails targeting conservative and pro Israeli groups) is 37 to the 7th power = 1 in 78,664,164,096. (that's over 78 Billion) In other
words, the odds are greater that you will win the Florida Lottery 342 times than having those seven IRS hard drives crashing in the
same month.

Think about it… JUST FOR A MINUTE!

If the house had any balls they’d have the MOA arrest every DOJ employee that walks into the hearing room. We need a real constitutional crisis.

I’m sure Eric Holder’s Department of Justice has the same lack of veracity and credibility here as they had in the New Black Panthers matter, where it was found that they were protecting the Panthers and that the DOJ `stonewalled,’ refusing to disclose documents that evidenced their lies and corruption.

In fact, that shameful matter is a `mirror image’ of what’s happening with the IRS scandal and several other Obamanite infested agencies.
What a coinkydink/

The FBI is too corrupted to be efficient in any investigation concerning the Obama regime.

It’s not the FBI I worked with in the past. Can’t trust them anymore.

Right after two federal judges want answers from the IRS user oath and I think one of them wants a special master who is another federal judge to go in and verify what they are saying.

It’s bad enough that they claim Lerners computer crashed and all her emails were lost including the ones she was required to print and file but it also happened with 5-6 more individuals at the IRS and someone else connected to her at the FEC. It is beyond belief so the DOJ needs to bury it and stall the investigation as long as possible. Of course if the DOJ is some how shown to be involved in a cover up lots of people will be going to jail at the DOJ.

How do you know that all seven hard drives crashed in a single month?

The odds of a disk drive failing in any given month are roughly one in 36.

I think this overestimates the likelihood of a hard drive crashing. I have three computers that are essentially under my sole control ... 1) Office computer; 2) Home computer; and 3) Laptop computer. If the odds of a hard drive failing in any given month is 1 in 36, I should, on average, have one of my hard drives fail every year. I've had computers since 1991. I've had one failed hard drive in 23 years even though I have multiple computers. I'd guess my personal experience is 1 hard drive failure for every 500-600 computer-months.

I'm still waiting for them to grow a few and call the heads of the IT departments before the committee and have them swear under oath that no backups exist, and if they don't, to produce all their internal logs on the "crashes" and what was done about them. I still find it amusing that when her hard drive crashed, everything was restored ( her daily schedule, etc.. ) except for her emails. She was up and functioning in no time.

I can smash every hard drive and every smart phone in the house and in my office right now and not lose a single email from any of my email accounts. That stuff is all out in the tubes but I guess everybody is supposed to be stupid and not know that.
