A similar launcher was seen by AP journalists near the eastern Ukrainian town of Snizhne earlier Thursday.
BUK, also known as SA-17 GRIZZLY, is a mobile anti-aircraft system mounted usually on a tracked vehicle or truck that can simultaneously track and strike six targets flying from different directions and at different altitudes, according to military thinktank Globalsecurity.org.
It was not immediately clear who would have been in control of such a launcher in the restive area where Ukrainian forces are battling ethnic Russian separatists.
The incident comes one day after a Russian military plane reportedly shot down a Ukrainian jet fighter over Ukrainian territory, forcing the pilot to eject, according to the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council spokesman.
Premature is right… It could conceivably be a set up by anti-Russian forces to implicate the Separatists. And Muslims will be terror- er, Muslims.

I am sure they have flights from KL to Amsterdam, but it would have a different flight number. In any event, there is no question that flight MH 17 originated in Amsterdam. It is a daily flight.

This is the 3rd plane to have been downed in the last 2 days. The other 2 were downed apparently from the Russian side of the border.

No, it was routine. Think back to 2008.
The Ukrainian military plane shot down three days ago was shot down by a Russian missile from the Russian side of the border. As was the Ukrainian jet that was shot down prior to that.
