Netanyahu's office says purpose of mission is to destroy terror tunnels and seriously harm the infrastructure of Hamas and other terrorist organizations in Gaza.
DF ground forces began to move into the Gaza Strip on Thursday evening, the prime minister's office confirmed.
The purpose of the operation was to destroy the Gazan terror tunnels leading to Israel, according to a statement released by the prime minister's office.

Amen to that. History shows the Israeli military is quick to adapt and is able to pull off operations thought impossible.
Put some live pigs down there in the tunnels.
Israel should annex Gaza and expel ALL Palestinians. Let their fellow Muslims take them in. No more “restraint” (Liberals’ favorite word regarding Israel).
I remember my one day working at a printing factory in Ezor Taasiya Bet in Kiryat Arba, having to take a leak. Went into the bathroom, and it was Arabian style, since almost all the workers were Arab, and I guess they were more comfortable with that style. You sit with legs folded on a platform over a porcelaine hole, and for flushing there was a plastic gourd in the sink, and I’d guess and S-shaped pipe underneath so that the flushing would take. It was so filthy, I would never have considered sitting on it. Fortunately, I never had to, because during the night someone snuck into the office and stole the computer that I was to work at, and since the owner never thought to make backups, the factory had to close down indefinitely, and I was out of a job.
