My daughter knows two high school classmates who have left to join the IDF. I guess it is not THAT uncommon.
Probably more self esteem then with are guy in charge.
Just doesn’t seem like a legit practice to me. If they want to fight, they should join our military. If they want to fight for a foreign nation, they should give up their citizenship and become a citizen of that nation.
