If you worked with Hawk, the weapon abilities are not too different from the Buk. Buk/Gadfly came out of the cute with better on-board electronics but upgraded Hawks have very similar range/speed/performance abilities.

Hawk has been around since I was a kid and is still useful in large parts of the world. When it comes to airliners and stuff with no ECM around, it's going to get the target even when used as fire and forget. I always liked the little trailer with three on it.

We saw some of those in VN and couldn't decide whether they thought the North was actually going to use their Air Force against the airbase or the Hawks were there to keep Marines from flying helicopters in and out to "borrow" air conditioners.
