In addition, his state will pay close to a fifth of a billion per year for every 1000 troops they deploy. They no small amount to come unplanned out of any states budget...even one of the largest.
I think Perry deserves credit.
Very little credit xzins.
While he is spending that billion per year for every 1000 troops, they could just as easily completely stop illegal immigration. And this defines Rick "Open Borders" Perry.
He NEVER really does anything, or supports anything that would stop Illegal Immigration, even when it is in his power to do it, whether it is supporting e-Verify, a Border Fence, AZ1070, or now, in the midst of this crisis, using the National Guard to actually stop the flow of Illegal Immigrants into Texas.
These are not the actions of a leader, but someone that wants to create an impression that he is strong on an issue, when he really isn't.
Those who do not have a criminal record will now be allowed to stay and further burden our county and they will eventually be criminals themselves when they perform the usual ID fraud that they all do.
Or, they will simply swell the ranks of Democrat voters who will be granted Amnesty.
Stopping those with a pre-existing Criminal Record should not be the focus. Stopping all Illegal Aliens should be. I'll not take part of his P.R. game when he knows he should do the right thing and refuses to do it.

In addition to the money, I also think it’s significant that they’re getting to filter criminals out.

I agree with you. Let’s just set on our big butts and do nothing. That is a sure way to control the illegals. Yep!

They dont plan to apprehend illegal immigrants, though, technically,
they could, said Texas Adjutant General John Nichols.
We would need more than 1k, in fact 20k would be the perfect number.
Perry should be taking more action. He's being to hesitant and it will hurt
him more than give him credit if he chooses to run in 2016.
Perry needs to create a bigger stink and throw blame where it belongs
instead of trying to play that Damn nice guy crap. Dems do not play nicey nice, PERRY!
They are laughing at you picking up the lunch tray they knocked into your lap.
