U.N. Official Cites ‘Strong Possibility’ of War Crimes in Gaza Conflict
New York Times ^ | JULY 23, 2014 | NICK CUMMING-BRUCE

Geneva-The United Nations’ top human rights official, Navi Pillay, said Wednesday that there was a “strong possibility” that Israel and Hamas have committed war crimes with indiscriminate attacks on civilians during more than two weeks of fighting with militants in Gaza.

Opening a special session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, Ms. Pillay called for an investigation and accountability to end the cycle of violence.

Ms. Pillay cited Israeli airstrikes on civilian homes in Gaza and the shelling of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Hospital two days ago, which killed four people, as examples of actions that suggest “a strong possibility that international humanitarian law has been violated in a manner that could amount to war crimes.”

Dear Israel, you will ALWAYS be hated and blamed regardless of the facts.

Carry on.

Close. Proving his badass, anti semite anti israel liberal leftist chops he said “joos” or “j00s” instead of “Jews”.

Just curious if this “UN official” is calling for checking into war crimes by UNRWA? They seem to have a penchant for stock piling weapons in their buildings...

Reports are that the news people in Gaza are not free to leave and that they are not allowed to make any reports about the fighters or show their weapons. If you watch the network coverage that sure appears to be true. The only things shown in Gaza are casualties..civilian and Israel targets..no fighters with guns.
They do show some outgoing rockets..that’s about it.

The "cycle of violence" is those damn Jews giveaway.

Yep, the cycle always seems to start with palies or hamasses, and then can only end with pressure on Israel to not defend itself.

Here’s the test, UN: which side is using civilians as `human shields’?

..... Not a peep about all the Ukrainian Government has killed”.....

Ukraine Gov. is run by the US teams and agencies...since that means Obama... nothing is going to be revealed which would point the finger at him doing anyone harm....or his involvement in Ukraine’s War. HE will be protected because too many nations have their hands in our pockets.

Do you think the idiots at the UN have ever figured out how terrorism exploits civilian populations??

Right. The cycle of violence is:

Palestinians attack Israel
Israel takes it
Palestinians attack Israel
Israel takes it
Palestinians attack Israel
Israel takes it

Israel closes border

Palestinians attack Israel
Israel responds in a limited way

Immediate calls for:
Cease fire
Ending of cycle of violence
Blaming of Israel for any Palestinian deaths and
Calls for Israeli restraint with implied future “war crimes” charges.

US revival of the “path to peace” or “roadmap to peace” or discussions of “the peace process” (with no acknowledgement that such methods have NEVER WORKED because the Palestinians have no interest in peace.)

UN denouncement of Israel by any number of Arab league members - any number of whom could accept their oppressed Palestinian brethren into their countries but somehow haven’t managed to do so.

The ol’ faculty lounge moral equivalency thing again.

Every action Hamas has taken has been what (used to) be considered a war crime. It’s their blueprint. But let’s try obfuscating with a “but they do it too, probably” bunch of hooey.

Gazans were warned by Israel many times to leave the area..and this with safe passage....Hamas warned them to remain in their homes...some were attacked when they tried to leave. Others have been forced to building tops to protect HAmas arsenals inside because Israel avoids bombing if citizens are in the areas.

There’s plenty of video showing Hamas slithering out of their tunnels into Israeli terrority during this conflict.... and firing hundreds of rockets into Israel civilian areas.

I am amazed that even after Israel spends days alerting civilians in Hama areas to leave idiots like the UN and that POS BO still accuse Israel of deliberately killing civilians
when it is Hamas and the palis who out civilians in the way

Sometimes, it's useful (for background) to visit primary sources.

Here's the Hamas Charter.

Read it carefully. Try to keep your lunch down while doing so ...

These are not people who can be negotiated with ... these are totalitarian tyrants whose goal is the utter destruction, worldwide, of anyone who disagrees with them.

You cannot trust anything Hamas says or does

Palestinians using donkeys and various other means as suicide bombings aimed for Israel.....a Palestinian terrorist rode an explosives-laden donkey cart toward an IDF position west of Khan Yunis and detonated the explosives. The terrorist and the donkey were killed, but the soldiers were left unscathed. Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack.

As Golda Meir said, “We’ll forgive you for killing our children, but we’ll never forgive you for making us kill yours.”
