More Lying By The IRS Before Congress And The Courts

Scandal: The tangled web of IRS deceit unravels a bit more with news recycled backup tapes of lost emails still exist and statements before a federal judge that Lois Lerner's hard drive was irreparably damaged were untrue.

Deliberately destroying evidence pertaining to the investigation of possible criminal activity is a crime. So is lying about it to Congress and the courts as part of a cover-up of that activity.

On July 11, U.S. District Court Judge Reggie Walton, at a hearing examining a lawsuit against the IRS by the targeted conservative group True the Vote, told Obama administration lawyers he wanted to see an affidavit explaining what happened with Lerner's hard drive.

He wanted something on the record and under oath that went beyond the tap dancing of recent congressional testimony. Walton also wanted to know the serial number of the hard drive and, if that number was known, "why the computer hard drive cannot be identified and preserved."

The nightmare of the Founders: government out of control.

Let’s see if their system of checks and balances can restore some semblance of honesty and credibility to an organization which has rightly been compared to the old Soviet KGB.

Now we know why Gowdy was cautioning the IRS commissioner to choose his words carefully , giving him fair warning and every chance to modify his testimony, and telling him words have consequences.

The arrogant IRS prick did not bother to prepare properly and was unaware of the testimony of the IRS techies the day before to the Ways and Means Committee.

It us very probable that Koskien has committed perjury, probably because the techies informed Congress that gollum was well aware of the status of backup tapes and the fact that Lerners hard drive had recoverable data and that he has been aware of these true facts all along, right from the git go.

Mr. Gowdy is exactly what we need a few hundred more of. I sure wish he was my congressman instead of the dolt I’m stuck with.

When did this happen!? Is there any kind of transcript? I never heard of this. Any IRS IT guy should be able to blow this thing wide open.

No.

And, nearly everyone in Congress will be re-elected. This will continue until we hit the wall at full throttle.

The nightmare of the Founders . . . Let’s see if their system of checks and balances . . .

The 17th amendment pulled the keystone from their system. Until the states are returned to the senate, until the distinct interest of the states is restored, there isn't a chance our trajectory into tyranny will be reversed.

The 17th amendment was passed to attempt to correct some major corruption that had occurred because of concentration of power at the state level. It’s goal was to return the power back to the people and I think it did so for a time.

The nature of man can overcome even the best designed system. The problem is not the 17th amendment, it is the nature of man...............................

There is no magic bullet to correct things. A conservative is not an idealist, he understands the nature of man.

Our founding fathers put up good fences but it requires a good moral code which we do not have.

The sad fact is there is no fixing the current situation but what politician would say that and get elected. We will have to start over from scratch like our founding fathers did.

When I was in Mongolia after the demise of the Soviet Union they were rediscovering their heritage after 80 years of repression. It was like the new frontier because the old rules were gone and it was “get ‘er done, we don’t care what it takes. BUT IT WAS TOUGH! We will rediscover our heritage when we start over. It also made a difference which satellite country you lived in after the Soviet union went pouf.

It doesn’t mean we don’t do anything, we fight small battles but there is a heavy cost coming down the pike for bad decisions we haven’t paid yet.

Another way of looking at it is if we were living in old testament times and the prophet came by and told us we would be captured and carried away, what would we do?

Not trying to be negative but looking through history, I would say we are along for the ride but keep fighting the small battles. And survive to be there in the rebuilding process.

The Framers designed a government to deal with man’s nature. The knew that division of power is the best design to secure our rights. To rely on elections and the virtue of the voter alone was known by them to be the sure road to despotism

Yes, I agree, they put up good fences. But they also knew the nature of man and even predicted what would happen because they knew mans nature..................

something about blood being spilled?

One of my favorite memories is releasing the calves out of the barn in the spring. They did not know what a fence was. Up would go the tail in the fresh air and sunshine and they would run straight into the fence............ injuring themselves and damaging the fence in some cases. They had to learn what a fence was.

Learn what you will from the above story.
