and while doing that they were not on the government dole nor a blight on their neighborhoods and taxpayers.
Good points. Waves of immigrants of the past were not coming here to get on public assistance programs. Welfare or public assistance as we know it today simply didn’t exist back then. They knew they were coming to a country where they would have to work.
